Tracking the candidates in the only polls that matter... The statewide polls.
The chart at the left shows the distribution of electoral votes based on statewide polls. The colors represent the gap in the poll. The darker the color, the larger the gap. 50% +1 or 270 Electoral votes are needed to win, out of a possible 538.
This site is really designed to be used along with Electoral-Vote.com. I provide one useful way to interpret the data, but without the information that is provided at that site, you won't get as much use from this chart.
For a complete explanation of the methodology used, see the Electoral-Vote.com polling FAQ. The raw data used to generate the chart is also available there. Please note that other than using the data that they make available, this site is not affiliated with Electoral-vote.com

Nate Silver is mentioned in this shocking video.
Diogenes- Nate has been very busy lately. It's an understandable but ironic oversight.
Poll Junkie- I guess I was lucky to never see the original--I just heard "Wassup?" more. I watched it to see what they referenced. It is very low-key and surprisingly depressive for a beer ad. It could be "relaxed" but I get "empty" and "sad". I guess the takeaway was that a Bud is good to suck on when watching the game by yourself, but call your friends for that "social" thing.
The do-over effectively asks "Are you/USA better off than you were 8 years ago?" in a funny way.
I think it was an incredibly brilliant reprise. They did a great job of illustrating just about every major crisis facing out country today-- the mortgage crisis and unemployment, Iraq, health care, the falling stock market, and global warming and our failed disaster management plan-- in a short, funny two minute spot. I doubt that it will switch anyone's side, but for undecideds who remember the original, it could be quite effective.
Wassup'08 is good concept, good writing, well-acted and executed. Yeah, for example the global warming/disaster/Katrina reference took about 1 second and managed to reference the original and be funny all at the same time.
Added 1 day ago and 750,000 views… I refreshed it and it said 816,000 views! That sucker has definitely gone viral. You will see it on the TV news tonight. Or has it already been on for hours?
It may not switch your side but this could influence the few undecideds who may be warming up to the socialist terrorist plumber fear theme or whatever it is today. Humor is the enemy of fear.
e-v.c is up late sunday nite on this side of the date line. If the race is going to plateau, it couldn't plateau at a nicer spot.
I was thinking the only thing that would be *really* nice right now would be a new poll showing McCain behind in AZ so he has to rush back there for the week just to save face. We can dream, can't we? Maybe tomorrow.
Speaking of video, here is a recent one of Biden handling a nutcaster from WTF!TV, no, WFTV -- apparently out of Orlando. Biden slowly comes to realize she is not of the reality-based community. (I mean, Orlando, think about it.)

It IS worth watching for her outrageous claims of Obama being an ACORN lawyer and organizer, calling him a socialist, and quoting Karl Marx. At least I think that's what I heard. This is your local EYEWITLESS news outfit.
Full disclosure: I actually came to that video from the Dick Morris site! -- it's only because I saw him listed at 3bluedudes and noticed he has an electoral vote count of 355 for Obama. Apparently he has been able to remove barnyard animals from his recent poll data.
